Cooking up a Storm

Someone must have put something in the tea because it's been a very productive month at Ocean-Image towers, and consequently sees the release of three new products.

Firstly, the new 2013 Waves desk calendar, which sits in its own fold-out display case, simply change to a fresh image each month.


This year again it is in aid of clean seas charity Surfers Against Sewage . A healthy donation from the sale of each calendar will go towards monitoring and challenging the polluters of one of our greatest natural assets.



 Due out at the end of this week,  you can pre-order yours here already.


Secondly, as mentioned on my Facebook, while drinking a cup of tea and listening to one of those brilliant Cornish storms rage outside, a punny idea came into my head, heralding the creation of ..
 'A Storm in a Teacup'


OK, OK, so it's a mug, but 'Storm in Tea Mug' didn't quite work. Using this Sennen Storm
photo printed onto a solid white mug, they're now available here .

Lastly, in response to the many people who have asked, there will also be a Wall Calendar this year.  An A4 sized, spiral bound, wall-hanging calendar, it will have a month per page, displaying a photo over half the page, with a grid pattern for the month below that, plus a border, giving plenty of room to write important dates in.

Phew!  After all that creativeness, I think I deserve a nice cup of tea and a sit down.

 What to put up on your wall Here at Cornish Seascapes we believe in putting a seascape print up on any wall space that's available!  But we would say that wouldn't we, so here's a few ideas from an amazing whole building design project we helped with, which was completed last year.    There were some very specific areas that needed an image, and having chosen a certain picture, the rest of the room was designed around colours picked from the photos Straight edged Aluminium prints fit well with the architectural lines.  The image is UV printed directly onto the panel which hangs flush  with the wall, so it doesn't protrude into the room. The Big Brush-Off

So we planned a trip to try out this crazy new type of surfing - Brush Boarding. Designed to try and replicate a skate-surf-snowboard sort of feel, it's essentially a metal quarter-pipe skate ramp with holes cut into it, through which brushes rotate at high speed. You stand on a foam board and try and surf against the upthrust of the brushes. Am I making sense? Pretty much like surfing or skating, you can drop in from the top, do bottom turns and cutbacks, trim down the line, as well as kick-flips (not me) off the tops (maybe after a bit more practice) and wipeout (definitely me). The wipeouts are OK though, with loads of padding around, and instaed of being mullered by the rest of the set, as in surfing, the guy on the controls simply shuts the machine down, so you can dust yourself off, and get right back into it.
